Meet Ms. Wonderly
Hey friends! My name is Katie, and I am a fourth-year Oklahoma teacher, making music with 650 of my favorite musicians at Tulakes Elementary in Putnam City Schools. I graduated with my Bachelor's Degree in Vocal Music Education from Oklahoma City University in 2015 and have completed two summers of master's coursework in Kodály Pedagogy at the University of Oklahoma. I am a member of The Organization of American Kodály Educators, National Association for Music Education, and the National Education Association. In March, I was named the 2020 Putnam City District Teacher of the Year.

I love to connect with educators and other community members through social media, sharing my journey as a young music educator and featuring favorite resources, classroom decor, lesson ideas, tech tips, and more. Through these platforms, I have been able to share and collaborate with educators, creators, and companies across the world.
I believe every classroom should be a place where creativity, community, and diversity are embraced and encouraged. It is my mission that every student leaves my music room knowing their voice matters, and that they are an essential part of our ensemble. When I'm not strumming my ukulele, singing with students, reading my favorite children's book, or jamming with my "twin sister"/alter ego DJ Wonderly, you can find me catching up on my favorite TV shows, taking longs walks down Target aisles, staying connected on social media, or planning my next big creative project!
